Five gifts ideas that support families in Africa

We’ve been talking a lot about ethical gifts at Send a Cow this Christmas period. Catherine, our Corporate Partnerships Executive, highlights some examples of ways you can give to family, friends and farmers across Africa.

Over the last few weeks, we have received some lovely messages about ‘what makes a gift meaningful’ from our supporters and a poll we ran on social media suggested that 45% of them thought that a meaningful gift was one that ‘keeps on giving’. Here are our top five meaningful gifts that keep on giving:

1. Advent of Change

The unique Advent of Change calendar is available online and in Waitrose & Partners stores across the country – but be quick as last year they sold out! Each day of this alternative advent calendar represents a 50p donation to a different charity, including Send a Cow!

2. Tapestry Brewing

The perfect gift for any beer lovers! Calum, Dan and the team at Tapestry Brewery donate £1 from every cask and keg (9g/30l), and 50p from every case (24x330ml) sold to support our amazing work. You can order yours online.

3. Raising the Baa

Struggling for an idea for your teammates? Rather than send Christmas cards why not organise a team-building activity at Raising the Baa? They donate £33, the cost of a sheep, for every course booked through them!

4. Triodos Bank account

Whilst it’s not technically a gift, when you open a bank account with Triodos and quote ‘Send a Cow’ Triodos will donate £40 to Send a Cow.

5. A virtual gift

From garden gadgets to avocado trees and goats,  reduce your waste and support farmers in rural African communities by buying one of our virtual gifts!
