Coronavirus is affecting us all: our staff, the people we work with in Africa and our supporters. In these unprecedented times, we are constantly assessing and refocussing our activities on how we can best serve our communities in Africa, whilst managing costs and ensuring that Send a Cow emerges from this crisis in the very best shape to continue our vital work.
As part of this assessment, we have taken the difficult decision to place just under half our UK staff on furlough under the UK government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
We shut our UK office nearly three weeks ago in line with government advice, and we have already adapted well to home-working. We are delighted that our supporters have continued to give, share and talk to us so kindly and generously, but feel we need to take these further steps to ensure the health of our organisation.
We would love to hear from you and all our normal lines of communication remain open. We may however be a little slower to respond to requests, answer phone calls and to thank you for your support at this present time. If you aren't able to get through to us straight away by phone, please leave a message or drop us an email and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
