This year at New Wine, our team told you about Caren.
Caren is a resident of Ohinga village in Kakrao Ward, Western Kenya. This is a village where many vulnerable families have really struggled in the face of harsh livelihood challenges.
Currently, the greatest challenge is a lack of clean and accessible drinking water.
More than 70% of Kakrao’s population collects water from unimproved water sources, resulting in widespread water-borne disease, which worsens malnutrition. At Send a Cow, we believe it doesn’t have to be like this.
Watering the Future...
Our brand new Watering the Future Project is working with Caren and 1,785 other vulnerable families living in Kenya. The first phase of the project will cap 10 water springs this summer and establish 10 water committees who will be provided with training to ensure the long-term sustainability of the springs.
Help us provide clean water for families like Caren’s in rural Kenya.£5 could provide a bag of chlorine to keep the water clean
