There are three types of gift you could leave to Send a Cow in your Will.

  • A share of your estate
  • A specific sum
  • A specific item

Once you have decided what type of gift you would like to leave, then contact your solicitor and use the following wording as a guide.

Share of your estate (known as a residuary legacy)

“I give the whole or a share (state the percentage) of the residue of my estate to Send a Cow (Registered Charity No. 299717) of The Old Estate Yard, Newton St Loe, Bath, BA2 9BR, for the general purposes of Send a Cow for its charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or any other proper officer of Send a Cow shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”

A specific sum (known as a pecuniary legacy)

“I give free of tax to Send a Cow (Registered Charity No. 299717) of The Old Estate Yard, Newton St Loe, Bath, BA2 9BR, the sum of £ (amount in figures, amount in words) for the general purposes of Send a Cow for its charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or any other proper officer of Send a Cow shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”

A specific item

“I give to Send a Cow (Registered Charity No. 299717) of The Old Estate Yard, Newton St Loe, Bath, BA2 9BR, (write here what you wish to give) for the general purposes of Send a Cow for its charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or any other proper officer of Send a Cow shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”
