Resource Mapping Many of our farmers believe that because they only own a small plot of land, they will never produce enough to thrive. We work with farmers to map out what they already have and how to make best use of these. Farmers draw out a map of their land and include all their resources e.g. land, livestock, access to water. Often farmers will find resources they underuse or never knew they had. There are lots of other analyses that can be done from a resource map. Creating activity lines and assigning them to each family member ensures the workload is spread fairly. Farmers can also plot everything that comes in and leaves the farm, adding a monetary value to look at profit and loss.
