This project will see 1,785 vulnerable families (9,382 people) from Kakrao, Migori County, lifted out of poverty as they become food and income secure. The project will specifically help women and those living with HIV, recognising their increased vulnerability. We will support community members to form 30 self-help groups who will recieve intensive support and training.

Send a Cow will also work with the community as a whole to build their resilience to economic, social and environmental stresses. Community interventions will include mobile HIV testing and counselling, community forums and community resource mapping. The project will facilitate protection of springs, providing a safe and clean water source for household and agricultural use.
