Pats on the back, that is! Farm Festival 2014 raised £3,158.48 to help poor farming families in Africa.

Send a Cow was chosen as Farm Festival's 2014 charity, helping to raise money from festival goers in a field to help farmers in fields thousands of miles away.

Donations were collected through ticket sellers Party for the People and Skiddle, t-shirt sales and donations from band members and guests. Send a Cow held a stall at the festival with a full-size milkable fibre glass cow, which proved a real hit with families.

The amount donated is enough to buy more than four dairy cows for poor families in Africa, including full training and veterinary costs. As a festival founded and run by a team of dedicated volunteers, Farm Festival shares in Send a Cow's grassroots ethos and love of all things West Country and farm-themed. The festival is held at Gilcombe Farm, an organic farm in Bruton, Somerset, each year.

Send a Cow and Farmfestival will be working together in 2015 in order to help more and more families to leave poverty behind.
