We are delighted to announce that the charity, Emerge Poverty Free, has merged with Send a Cow. Together we will be able to support even more families in Africa, empowering them to secure their own futures and helping them to lift themselves from poverty.

Emerge Poverty Free works in partnership with local, grassroots organisations in east Africa, primarily in Uganda and Burundi, to provide the skills, resources and knowledge for people to overcome poverty with dignity. Their small London-based team works closely with African partners to deliver projects focusing on: improving food security; promoting sustainable livelihoods; investing in clean water, sanitation and hygiene training; and increasing access to reproductive and maternal healthcare.

Send a Cow and Emerge Poverty Free share many key values and the complementary nature of our work in east Africa makes this a strong partnership. We’ll be sharing expertise, knowledge and resources and Send a Cow CEO, Paul Stuart, will also become CEO of Emerge Poverty Free. By working together, we’ll be able to save in fundraising and administration costs, helping us to be even more effective in supporting rural communities in Africa.

Send a Cow’s name, staff and operations will remain unchanged. We will continue to work in the same east African countries delivering the same programmes which we know enable families to lift themselves out of poverty for good.

The good work done by both charities is only possible through the generosity of our many loyal and highly motivated supporters.  We hope that you will continue to support the combined efforts of Send a Cow and Emerge Poverty Free and look forward to updating you on the work we do together.
